Every Punch Type in Ragdoll Boxing 3D — Jab, Hook, Uppercut & Heavy
All punch types in Ragdoll Boxing 3D explained: jabs, hooks, uppercuts, charged heavy punches and how to combine them into fight-winning combos.
The Punch System at a Glance
Ragdoll Boxing 3D gives you four core punch tools on one button. Direction + timing decides what comes out. Every punch costs stamina and builds your power meter — the meter that fuels the R heavy punch.
| Punch | Input | Speed | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jab | M1 (no direction) | Fast | Poking, meter building |
| Hook | M1 + left/right direction | Medium | Damage, side angles |
| Uppercut | M1 + up direction | Medium | Launcher, anti-air |
| Heavy | R (charged meter) | Slow | Ragdoll knock-outs |
The Jab: Your Bread and Butter
The jab is your fastest, safest punch. Use it to check range, build the power meter and interrupt enemy combos. Jabs deal little damage alone, but three quick jabs while advancing carry surprising momentum — and momentum causes ragdolls.
The Hook: Your Damage Punch
Hold a left or right direction with M1 to swing a hook. Hooks hit harder than jabs and come at an angle that straight blocks sometimes miss. They are slower, so throw them when your opponent is recovering or committed to their own attack.
The Uppercut: The Launcher
M1 with an upward direction launches the uppercut. It is the best anti-air tool in the game — a jumping opponent hit by an uppercut ragdolls almost every time. It also opens combo routes: uppercut → heavy is a classic finisher.
The Heavy Punch (R)
The R heavy punch only fires when your power meter is charged. It is the slowest, hardest-hitting tool and the most common ragdoll trigger. Rules for using it:
- Never open with it — the wind-up is very punishable.
- Use it after a stun, a blocked attack or a whiffed enemy combo.
- At close range against a cornered opponent, it is a near-guaranteed knock-out.
Punch Economics: Stamina and the Meter
Every punch spends stamina; landing punches fills the power meter. That creates a simple loop: poke with jabs → land one hook when they slip → cash the meter into an R heavy. Punch economy is explained in detail in our stamina guide. For multi-punch routes, see the combo guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the strongest punch in Ragdoll Boxing 3D?
The charged heavy (R). It deals the most damage and carries the most ragdoll momentum — but only use it when the meter is full and your opponent is committed.
How do I throw an uppercut?
Hold the up direction while pressing M1. Uppercuts are the best answer to jumping opponents.
Why do my punches feel weak?
Low Damage stat and empty meter. Train Damage at the gym and land hits to fill the power meter before going for heavies.
